Students and parents who are new to the Residential Network (Resnet) at UGA are welcome
to look through each section below for suggestions on what to buy, how to set up your new
computer, and what may be required for you to connect to the network. Owning a computer
is not a requirement for enrollment at the University of Georgia. The information
below is merely a suggestion, and systems that do not meet what we suggest may work
perfectly fine for some students. Please read our Security section to avoid the frequent
risks of being on a network with an unsecured computer.
