Virus and Spyware Removal

Step Four - Reboot and Install F-Secure

Once you reboot you should notice a significant improvement in your computer´s performance. Next you will need to install and run F-Secure. Make certain you fully removed your old Anti-Virus programs. HouseCall will not interfere with F-Secure.

  1. Run the F-Secure installer you downloaded. It should set itself up automatically and will require you to reboot when it is finished. Go ahead and reboot.
  2. After rebooting, right click on the blue triangular F by your system clock on the start menu. Choose Open F-Secure Anti-Virus Client Security and then Automatic Updates. Click on Check now next to Manual Updates to make sure it is updated.
  3. Next click on Virus Protection followed by Advanced in the bottom right corner. On the left side of the Advanced window click on Manual Scanning. Look at the options for Action to take on infected files: and select Delete Automatically.
  4. Click on OK. Back at the main F-Secure window click on Scan for viruses now followed by Scan all local hard disks.
Once the scan completes you can look at the report if you wish and see if any of the viruses HouseCall could not remove were removed. If they were not, then run HouseCall again, this time in normal mode, and call us if they still cannot be removed.
