*1:  Some class projects may be too large for a floppy disk. "CD Burners" also allow you to backup your documents
      in case your computer crashes.
*2:  USB Keychains are small and should work with most Windows 2000/XP or Mac OSX computers just by plugging
them in.  They appear as another hard drive in "My Computer" in Windows, or as a folder on the OSX Desktop.
*3:  Flat Panel (LCD) Displays save a lot of desk space, are lighter and produce less heat, than older CRT monitors.
LCDs and Laptop displays should be run at their "native resolution" for significantly better clarity.
*4:  Our network runs no higher than 100Mbps in the dorms, however 1000Mbps cards generally are not more
expensive.  Our wireless network supports both 802.11b and 802.11g, though 'G' can be faster.
*5:  While Windows 95, 98 and ME are outdated, we still offer technical support for these OSes. OS9 is not supported
*6:  UGA's TEC Services provides Warranty and Out of Warranty hardware support for most major computer brands.
For most dorms they can be called ahead to pick up systems at the front desk.  3 year extended warranties are
recommended as computers can break and are expensive, though premium "in home" service is not necessary.
*7:  Trial versions of Norton and McAffee are useless once their trial runs out.  If you do not intend to purchase a
subscription to these services, you should download F-Secure for free from UGA's website.
